Stage one (Ages 0-9)

Discover, Learn & Play
At this age, all children are encouraged to learn fundamental movement patterns and motor skills in multiple environments. Experimentation and exploration of these foundational attributes can enable the acquisition of basic sport skills. This is essential for learning how sports are played.

Stage Two (Ages 10-13)

Develop and Challenge
At this stage, youth who continue to be engaged in sport should focus on refining and mastering fundamental and basic sport skills essential to participation in multiple sports and recreational activities. Furthering these skills requires the athlete to be physically and mentally determined while keeping fun and socialization as key components.

Stage Three (Ages 13-18)

Train and Compete
Young athletes should begin to train and compete in a program that is most suited for them based on their interests, goals, and developmental needs. Technical, physical, and psycho-social skills become increasingly important.

Stage Four (Ages 16+)

Excel For High Performance or Participate and Succeed
At this age, athletes must decide whether to focus on the sport to enhance performance and competition or continue to compete for fun and health/social benefits. Youth athletes with the appropriate athletic development will have the option to choose a participation or competition pathway as they continue their physical literacy journey into adulthood.

Stage Five (Active for Life 18+)

Thrive and Mentor
Adults with a strong movement and sporting background will have the competence and confidence to participate in sport and recreational activity throughout the lifespan. Many athletes have the opportunity to give back to their sport through coaching, volunteering, etc. This is encouraged as this role in sports is necessary to aid the development of the next generation of athletes.
Why Chiropractic Care?
In addition to helping reduce back and neck pain, research shows chiropractic is beneficial in reducing headaches and digestive issues, while also improving immune function.

Faster injury recovery
Studies have linked chiropractic care with faster healing.

Injury prevention
If the musculoskeletal (bones and tissue) system is out of alignment, due to overtraining for instance, it can create tension in one area of the body. And if this tension is able to persist, a sprain, strain, or other similar injury can result.

Improved strength
Chiropractic care athletes improves strength. A study involving elite Taekwondo athletes received one session of care and the resulted in increased muscle strength when compared to a control group.

Increased flexibility
“All athletes can benefit from performance flexibility” according to the United States Sports Academy. Greater flexibility offers greater injury protection and improved sports performance.
